Undergraduate Research Opportunities

The University of Minnesota is a world-class research school and there are plenty of research opportunities.  The professors here at the U are very friendly and most of them are willing to take in undergraduate research students!  As a freshman, I was able to work in three different labs.  I developed a strong research interest in subdural hematoma and its relationship with anticoagulant use.  The process of becoming an undergraduate research assistant was actually easier than I thought it would be.  All you have to do is find someone that you'd like to work for, send him/her an email and you're all set!  Sometimes it takes the professors a little while to reply your emails and help you move forward with your research plan, but be patient!  Patience is always the key to success. :)
