A Few of The Many Amenities of East Bank

Hey guys! It's been a while since I last blogged, but I figured that a blog revolving around East Bank, and a few of its many facilities would prove to be quite beneficial to you! It's important to note that the campus of the University of Minnesota is divided into three parts: East Bank, West Bank and St. Paul campus. The three sections have a ton to offer to students, and you're bound to have a blast in whatever campus you find yourself in! Alright, let's get this blog rolling!

Staying on the topic of "banks", East Bank houses the University's official football stadium: TCF Bank Stadium. The stadium fits approximately 52,525 people, and it really becomes quite hectic on big game days.

The student union, known as Coffman Memorial Union, is also located on East Bank. It is named after Lotus Coffman, the University President between 1920 and 1938. Fun fact: The building's exterior is designed to look like Goldy Gopher's head! It took me a while to notice it at first, but it's difficult to unsee it after you have seen it. Kazi, a fellow ambassador, and I have made a video touring the building! Check it out at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzoMk6R7adE

My personal favorite part about East Bank would have to be Superblock! What is Superblock, I hear you ask? To put it simply, Superblock is the term given to the block of 4 dormitories (Centennial, Territorial, Frontier, Pioneer) that are adjacent to each other. Living there is a great way of meeting new people, and going to class is never going to feel lonely because there's bound to be a student from there who's headed towards the same direction as you!

There is so much more to East Bank; however, revealing everything right now would be spoiling the fun, wouldn't it? I'll leave the rest of the exploring to you fellow gophers! I hope to see you on campus this fall, and most importantly, remember: GO GOPHERS!!!
