Want to volunteer but don't know where to start?

One of the best ways to get involved and gain valuable experience is volunteering in the community. If you are looking for volunteer opportunities, I recommend you to visit the Community Service-Learning Center which is located in Appleby Hall on East Bank! Peer advisors at the center will help you find volunteer opportunities that match your interests, goals and values. University of Minnesota also offers a lot of service-learning classes each semester, most of which fulfill Liberal Education requirement, and here's the link for more information about service-learning classes at the U: http://www.servicelearning.umn.edu/info/courses/

I took ENGL1501W this fall semester and it is was service-learning class which also fulfilled the lower division writing intensive requirement. So I got a chance to volunteer as a Korean tutor at Sejong Academy which is a Korean immersion charter school in St. Paul!
