What do I need to apply?
You will need to self-report your high school courses and grades, as well as your English proficiency test score, and pay the $55 application fee. ACT/SAT scores are not required.

Do you offer scholarships?
Yes, all international students are automatically considered for the Global Excellence Scholarship. International Student and Scholar Services also offers a variety of need-based scholarships, which require a separate application. Learn more on our Costs & Scholarships page.
What kind of career opportunities are there?
Our location in the Twin Cities means there are all kinds of internship and career opportunities. We have 17 Fortune 500 companies in the metro area. Under the Curricular Practical Training and Optional Practical Training programs, you can work in the U.S. in a job directly related to your major area of study either while in school or after graduating.
Each college at the University of Minnesota has its own Career Center, and the University also has an International Careers Consultant who offers specialized resources for international students.
How can I get involved in research?
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program provides students from every college, major, and discipline the opportunity to partner with a faculty member on research on creative projects. You can find a faculty member you might be interested in working with at experts.umn.edu.
